The black phantom tetra is a small freshwater fish of the characin family.
This fish has many of the same features with other types of tetras. It has a flat, tetragonal body, wide anal fin, and a tiny little adipose fin. It is a peaceful schooling fish. It is one of the best choice for the community tank.

Caring for These Stunning Tetras

Black Phantom Tetras thrive in tanks of at least 60 liters, enriched with live plants, driftwood, and hiding spaces. They prefer water temperatures between 22°C and 28°C, with a pH range of 6.0–7.5. Dim lighting enhances their natural colours and creates a calming environment. Gentle filtration and regular water changes are essential for their health and vitality.

Ideal Tank Mates

These tetras are peaceful and social, making them a great fit for tanks with other non-aggressive species like Neon Tetras, Corydoras, and Rasboras. Keeping them in groups of six or more encourages schooling behaviour and reduces stress. Avoid pairing them with larger or predatory fish that may harm or intimidate them.
