Burmese Rummy Nose Rasbora - Sawbwa resplendens
The Rummy Nose Rasbora Sawbwa resplendens is endemic to the Shan State of eastern Myanmar (Burma), Asia. The only member of its genus, its size and habitat are just a few of its remarkable features. This very small fish reaches a total length of not quite an inch (2.5 cm), making it both one of the smallest cyprinids and one of the smallest known vertebrates.
Ideal Tank Mates
Burmese Rummy Nose Tetra thrive in groups of 6-8 with peaceful, small fish. For instance, rasboras, Corydoras catfish, or other tetras pair well. However, avoid large or aggressive species to prevent stress. Since they are schoolers, a 60-litre tank suits them best. Additionally, plants and open space ensure a harmonious, stress-free environment.
Feeding
Burmese Rummy Nose Tetra eagerly consume an omnivorous diet. In the wild, they feed on small organisms and plants. Therefore, offer high-quality flakes, supplemented with live or frozen foods like daphnia. Importantly, include spirulina flakes and feed 2-3 times daily, within 3 minutes. This approach maintains their vibrant colors and robust health.
