Glowlight Tetra - Hemigrammus erythrozonus
The glowlight tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus), is a small tropical fish in silver colour and a bright iridescent orange colour to red stripe extends from the snout to the base of its tail. This fish is peaceful and easy to keep. They are one of the most popular tetras for all fish keepers.
Ideal Tank Setup
Recreate their natural home with plants and soft substrates. Gentle filtration keeps water clear. Moreover, dim lighting highlights their glow. To replicate their natural habitat:
- Use fine gravel or sand substrate.
- Add plants like Java moss for cover.
- Include driftwood for hiding spots.
- Keep temperatures at 22-28°C.
Compatible Tank Mates
These tetras blend well with non-aggressive fish, fostering harmony. However, avoid large or aggressive species to reduce stress. Thus, keep six or more for confident schooling. Suitable tank mates include:
- Neon Tetras
- Corydoras Catfish
- Rasboras
- Small Guppies
