Kribensis is a colorful fish. The Kribensis Cichlid (Pelvicachromis pulcher) is a peaceful dwarf species .The average Kribensis Cichlid size is around 3-4 inches in length. This fish is a good tankmate and easy to care.

Tank Mates

Kribensis Cichlids are semi-aggressive, especially during breeding. However, they can coexist with peaceful, fast-swimming tank mates like tetras, rasboras, and rainbowfish. Avoid pairing them with other territorial cichlids to prevent conflicts. Furthermore, ensuring the tank has plenty of space and hiding spots helps reduce aggression. When properly housed, they are active yet harmonious members of a community tank.

Feeding

The Kribensis Cichlid thrives on a varied omnivorous diet. High-quality pellets or flakes should be their primary food source. Moreover, live or frozen treats like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia enhance their health and colours. Adding blanched vegetables such as spinach or zucchini ensures balanced nutrition. Feed them twice daily in small portions. Additionally, removing uneaten food promptly prevents waste buildup and maintains water clarity.

Breeding and Raising Fry

Breeding Kribensis Cichlids is relatively easy, making them a favourite for aquarists. Females display a bright purple belly when ready to spawn, while males guard the territory. They lay eggs in caves or secluded areas. Once fry hatch, parents actively protect and guide them. Furthermore, feeding fry baby brine shrimp or crushed flakes ensures healthy growth. Keeping water conditions stable is crucial for successful breeding and fry survival.
