Homaloptera orthogoniata is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Homaloptera found in Thailand, Laos and Indonesia.

Care:Lizard Fish (Homaloptera Orthogoniata) naturally reside in swift-moving streams with rocky substrates, frequently within forested regions. Field observations often note "Blackwater" environments at their collection locations. To replicate their habitat, aquariums must maintain strong water flow to meet the species’ elevated oxygen demands.

Homaloptera species thrive under conditions similar to other Hillstream fish. They require strong water flow and good aeration, along with plenty of rocky shelters and smooth pebbles or boulders to graze on. Bright lighting is essential to promote algal growth in the tank. Although plants are not naturally present in their habitat, they benefit water quality. Ideal plants for high-flow tanks include Anubias and Microsorum, which can be attached to rocks or driftwood.

Feeding: Good quality flake, sinking pellets, algae wafers, thawed frozen Bloodworm, Mysis Shrimp, natural algae an advantage.

Water parameters: pH: 6.5-7.5. Hardness: Medium Soft to Medium. Max dh: 12
