The Peacock Spiny Eel is a fascinating and elegant oddball species, prized for its snake-like body, earthy tones, and eye-catching ocelli (“peacock spots”) along its flanks. These 6–10 cm juveniles are already showcasing their beautiful markings and curious behavior. A peaceful bottom-dweller with a preference for burrowing, this eel thrives in soft, sandy substrates and heavily planted aquariums.
